Meet the 2025 Life Change Program Graduates: Ebony Johns

Ebony Johns, 2025 Life Change Graduate!

Ebony’s joy SHINES!

When she arrived at the Eugene Mission, she said she felt like this was her last chance out of homelessness and addiction – and she made it!

Ebony is graduating the Life Change Program a transformed woman.

As a child, Ebony was passed among family members as if she were an unwanted possession. She went on to live with 7 sets of foster families and was abused in countless ways. At 18, she left the foster care system and began a cycle of homelessness and addiction that lasted almost 30 years.

In a miraculous intervention, she made it to a Celebrate Recovery service last year, and was connected with the Life Change Program. Since then, she has reconnected with family, is working toward her GED, and is looking forward to getting her first job since 1997! (She has a passion for flowers and the joy they bring others and hopes to open a flower shop one day.)

“I am so grateful for this program and for the staff and my phase leader Natalie,” Ebony says. “I now have a dream and I am going after it!”

Help us celebrate Ebony and the other graduates of the Life Change Program! Come and show your support for a group of 11 men and women who have worked through incredible adversity to come to a place of healing, authentic change and new life.

You are invited to her graduation ceremony!
